swindesign. live is a virtual environment space created for Vocational Education & Training ( VET ) courses in the Department of the Art & Design students at the Swinburne University of Technology.

Inspired by The National School of Design, PA building in Prahran Campus back in the old good times, we are introducing swindesign.live as internal assessment tools and methods for our courses. This virtual space acts as an industry-based workplace simulation for Art & Design students demonstrating their practical skills and knowledge for their units of the competency assessment conditions and requirements - Skills must have been demonstrated in the workplace or in a simulated environment that reflects workplace conditions and contingencies with design outcomes or representations that need to be digitally presented.

With the idea supported by Mark Boyle, our Department Art & Design Manager, under the challenging time studying and teaching and maintaining industry based currencies for all Art & Design course in the coming years, this virtual exhibition space and platform is created for Art & Design students while the actual physical events are not compatible due to social distancing, traveling restrictions, and government requirements.
